SAU 49 Welcomes Interim Superintendent
Kathy Lagace

The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Laliberte as Interim Superintendent of Schools for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2026.

Mr. Laliberte brings more than 35 years of experience in New Hampshire public education, having served as a teacher, principal, director of curriculum, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Throughout his distinguished career, he has also mentored principals and new superintendents across New Hampshire and Massachusetts. In addition, he is the author of two books focused on educational leadership, professional growth, and sustaining motivation among school leaders over time.

Mr. Laliberte is no stranger to the Governor Wentworth Regional School District. From 1998 to 2004, he served as both a teacher and administrator at Kingswood Regional High School. His familiarity with the district and its communities, combined with his commitment to student achievement and organizational excellence, positions him well to serve in this important interim role. He is widely recognized as a collaborative and thoughtful leader, a skilled communicator, and a strong advocate for professional capacity-building and student learning.

The School Board is grateful to have identified such an exceptional candidate to lead the district during this transitional period. The Board is confident that Mr. Laliberte will build upon the strengths, values, and culture that the Governor Wentworth and Middleton communities have long valued and supported in their schools.

Community members are invited to attend a Meet and Greet with Mr. Laliberte on Monday, June 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Kingswood Regional High School cafeteria.
